Wooden slats
A piece of wood, one side of which is less than 40 mm., As a rule, is called a strip. Unlike bars, this type of lumber does not imply serious loads, but nevertheless, during manufacture, it is processed as carefully as many types of bars. The slats are made of inexpensive, but fairly durable wood, most often conifers (pine, spruce), the natural properties of which (resin in fibers) increase the material's resistance to aggressive environmental factors. But as a material for decorating interior spaces, larch wood can also be used (it has higher aesthetic properties, improves the microclimate in the room). Thorough drying of wood allows this type of sawn timber to retain its shape (during seasonal temperature changes) and not deform (with increasing humidity).
The scope of application of the rails is wide enough:
- manufacture of furniture, window structures, doors, fittings (for example, round rail);
- performance of roofing works, finishing of facades;
- installation of lathing for lining;
- creation of various frames (for additional cladding);
- erection of fences and other elements of landscape design;
- use as a cladding material for baths, saunas, residential and commercial interiors;
The advantages of this type of sawn timber include low cost, environmental friendliness and low weight of products, which makes it easier to work in the process of assembling structures.
