Features of the production of boards
The edged board is made by longitudinal sawing of a log. Wood can be used for almost any species of wood. The most demanded today are boards made of oak, pine, birch, maple, ash and aspen. The most profitable way is to make boards from coniferous wood. The end product when sawing wood is a flat rectangular bar.
Depending on the degree of processing, the boards are of the following types:
- edged board, which is completely processed from all sides;
- a semi-edged board with one raw edge.
The quality of the edged board is determined by the number of areas with the remaining bark, the so-called wane. The highest quality boards are produced without wane.
